I put together a movie for the kids, using some primary drawn images (thanks to those who contributed!), to help the kids learn our song for this month. The song is Faith from the Children's Songbook. Enjoy!

Primary Music
So as most of you know I am our ward's primary chorister. I love my calling and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share my love for music with the children of this ward.

The Circus
We took little Mario to the circus. The Barnum and Bailey Ringling Brothers were in town. It was fun. Little Mario had a good time, I don't know why, but half way through he said he wanted to go home, but enjoyed the rest of the show after that. I think 2 hours is a long time to sit still for him. We let him get up and dance sometimes, but other than that it was sit and watch.... oh well. His favorite was when the girl got cut in half! I really liked the girls that swung around by their hair! That was crazy!! We got a cool video of some acrobats. OUr seats weren't the greatest. We were like 2 rows up from the floor, but waaaaayyyy off to the side, so we had a hard time seeing somethings. ("best available seats", pffff!) whatever, it was still fun! All in all it was great, but I think next time we take a child to the circus we will wait until they are 5 instead of 4, so the attention span is longer!
(It's always tough for me to enjoy something like this.... I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to shows and fireworks and parades and all that because I worked in Disney World, I mean, really who does all that better than Disney? Universal Studios maybe? *sigh*)

Dinosaurs!!
A couple weekends ago we went to the museum in Columbia, SC where they had a dinosaur exhibit! The kids are really interested in dinosaurs right now, so this was really fun for them! Mario knew the name of a lot of the dinos and when he was digging in the "sand" for fossils, he said, "Look mom, I'm a paleontologist!" Hahaha! They both really enjoyed looking for fossils! Check out the pics to see our fun!

Painting the Kitchen
We, or rather, I painted the kitchen. I love it! I think it looks really great! This picture was taken at night so it's a little dark in the kitchen, but it's really nice during the day. I painted all the way into the dining room on the top only. I have plans for the bottom part, but that will be another day, another post. Let me know what you think!

Let It Snow!! In Georgia?
Yes believe it or not, we got an INSANE amount of snow tonight!! It's like 7 inches outside right now and it's STILL coming down!! I can't believe it! I'm having one of those Am-I-Still-In-Georgia? kind of moments!! Crazy! So yeah, enjoy the pics!
January 26, 2010
Well the weather her in Georgia has been really crazy! One day it's freezing cold and the next day it's sunny and 70 degrees! I wish it would just get warm already! On those few warm days we made the most of them. On Martin Luther King Jr. day we decided to drive an hour to Magnolia Springs State Park to do some hiking. The hiking was less that difficult so we just walked all over the park checking it out. This summer we hope do to a lot of camping so we thought we could start checking out the camping now. This state park had some fun playgrounds so the kids enjoyed playing on them. We also saw a crocodile that we were pretty sure was fake, but we took a picture anyway. All in all it was a great day and a great way to get out and have an adventure together as a family!
On another of those nice sunny days I spent a couple hours repainting some chairs that I got at Goodwill. I got 4 for $20, I say that's a pretty good deal. A couple dollars on paint and ta-da! New chairs to go with the free table! I think I did a pretty good job on the first 3, I've still got 3 to do. We had 2 chairs left from our old table that I'm going to paint as well.
We got a treadmill in our hope of losing weight this year. So far I've used it quite a bit (45 minutes this morning!). The kids are just fascinated with it, Mario a little too much. One day while I was running on it he thought it was funny to throw a ball on it and watch it roll off (you can her me saying, "Stop it! Please get away! You're going to hurt yourself!") then he thought it was funny to put his hand on it and have it roll off ("Mario if you don't stop you're going to get a time out! Mario, please get away! Go play with your toys!"). Well, it ended badly, he got his fingers caught under the belt and it pealed the skin off of the bottom of two of his fingers. Poor kid! I feel so bad for him, it's been a week now since it happened and he still screams when we change the bandage!
A couple of you have been asking to see better pictures of our living room painting job. So as requested, Emilee, here you go! Let me know what you think. Our next paint and decorating project is the kitchen and dining room. I don't know where to start with the painting, there are so many things to move out of the way to get to the walls! I already bought the paint so there's no turning back now!!
Have a great rest of the month and enjoy the pictures!
